Jeremiah 31:37
Hello, Special Reader — Before we begin, let us pray:
In Jesus name, Heavenly Father, we thank You.
Thank You for bringing Your child here to meet with You. We know this
moment isn’t by chance or a coincidence. We know it’s a divine appointment.
We pray, O God, that whatever reason You’ve drawn them here for, may it be
fulfilled in Jesus name.
Please Lord, open their heart to receive, their ears to hear, and their eyes to
see You clearly. Remove every distraction, every doubt, and every weight that
would try to steal this moment. Let Your Spirit breathe life through every
word. Let Your love be felt deeply. And may this reader walk away not just
inspired but transformed.
In Jesus name. Amen.
I’m sure that many of us have heard “It’s never too late to come to Christ,” and
when most of us hear this, we don’t believe. Some of us might say my heart is
too dark, my past or even present is too sinful, even maybe some of us just feel
shame and guilt. And so, even though you may want to come, there’s a
crippling guilt that makes it impossible for you to come. Truth be told, some of
you might even make it to the church and when the altar call comes, and the
preacher calls out to you over and over, you’re at the edge of your seat and the
Holy Spirit is pushing you to go but again that crippling fear comes and it’s
telling you, do you really think with all you’ve done you can be forgiven?
Maybe you might think you’re undeserving of forgiveness. But Glory be to
GOD, the Lord has sent us today to tell you that no matter what you’ve done,
YOU STILL BELONG TO HIM’.
‘It is impossible for you to measure the heavens above or to fathom the
foundations of the earth below. In the same way, it is impossible for me toreject my people Israel, no matter what they have done,” declares Yahweh.’
Jeremiah 31:37 TPT
The Father Who Still Calls You His

You might even wonder how that could be true. How could God still want you
after everything? Well, let’s look at Ephraim:
Ephraim wasn’t just any tribe. They were adopted into the covenant. Ephraim
was Joseph’s younger son born in Egypt. God had a plan for them. Jacob
placed his right hand, and bestowed the blessing of the firstborn on Ephraim’s
head (Genesis 48), giving him a place of honor among the tribes of Israel.
They were chosen, favored, and deeply loved.
But along the way, Ephraim messed up. Big. They turned away from God, ran
to idols like Baal (Hosea 13:1–2), rejected the prophets sent to help them
(Hosea 9:7–8), and trusted in alliances instead of the One who had always
been there (Isaiah 7:2; 8:6–8). They strayed so far that God called them joined
to idols, a people full of rebellion (Hosea 4:17).
And yet… God still called them His.
He didn’t throw them away. He didn’t erase their name. In fact, He still called
Ephraim His firstborn.
‘They will return praying with tears as I lead them home. I will guide them to
streams of water, by a smooth path where they will not stumble. For I am
Israel’s Father, and Ephraim is my firstborn son.’ Jeremiah 31:9 TPT
That’s not the kind of love that gives up easily. That’s the kind of love that
says, “No matter what you’ve done, you still belong to Me.”
Firstborn
In the Bible, the title of firstborn holds weight. It means to bet set apart,
honored, and chosen, not because of perfection, but because of purpose. The
firstborn carried the family name, the inheritance, and the authority. And
when God called Ephraim His firstborn, He was saying:
“I still see you as Mine. You still carry My name. You still belong to
Me.”
It didn’t matter how far Ephraim had gone. The Father’s heart was still full of
mercy.
In Jeremiah 31:18-19, we see the Israelites begging for mercy. They felt
humiliated, ashamed, disgraced, and broken. But they were saying; Bring us
back, YAHWEH; let us come home, for you are our God. And Yahweh replies,
“Ephraim, you are still my child no matter what you’ve done; you are still
my beloved children, my very precious children. Even though I rebuke you,
my thoughts are filled with love. That is why I am so deeply moved with
compassion, for I long for you and have mercy in my heart for you,” declares
Yahweh. Jeremiah 31:20 TPT
So in your brokenness, shame, or whatever negative emotion you’re feeling.
Don’t be hard-hearted, don’t say no to the One who can heal you and restore
you. Don’t say no to MERCY! He says,
“Set up your signposts and road
markers to find your way home. Take note of the pathway, and remember
the road by which you went. Come home, my beloved Israel; return to your
own cities. Faithless one, how long will you hesitate? ” Jeremiah 31:21-22
Personal Reflection: This Is for You Too
Jeremiah 31 isn’t just a chapter of history. It’s a letter from our Father to your
heart. If you’ve ever felt unworthy, ashamed, or unsure if God still wants you,
this is for you.
God isn’t waiting for perfection. He’s been drawing you with patience and
kindness, not because of what you’ve done, but because He loves you with a
forever love:
“I have deeply loved you with a forever-love;
that is why I have been so patient and kind
to draw you to my heart.
You are precious to me, and I will build you up again”. Jeremiah 3:4 TPT
He wants to restore more than your circumstances. He wants to restore your
joy, your peace, and your worship (Jeremiah 31:12–13). Even your grief and
sorrow are not overlooked. He promises to turn them into gladness and
comfort (Jeremiah 31:13). If it feels like your life has been torn down,
sometimes it’s because God is preparing to build something stronger,
something new, with Him at the center (Jeremiah 31:28, Psalm 127:1).
And now, through the new covenant, you don’t have to work your way to Him.
There is no distance. No separation. He says,
“From the least to the greatest,
they will all know Me intimately, for I will remove their guilt and wipe their
sin from My memory” Jeremiah 31:34 TPT.
So if you’ve been wondering if it’s too late or if you’re too far gone, know this
— it’s not. You still belong to Him. He is still you’re Father.
Let Us Pray Together
In Jesus name, Heavenly Father, we pray for this special reader.
Show Yourself to them as the loving, patient, merciful Father You are.
Remind them of who they are: chosen, loved, redeemed.
Break off every lie that says they are too far gone.
Restore what was lost. Renew what was broken. And bring them back into the
fullness of Your love. In Jesus name. Amen.
Say Yes to the Father
The Bible says:
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should
be called children of God!”
