ToggleThe Lamb Who Was Slain
Scripture: Revelation 5:1–14
Opening Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for who You are. Thank You for Your faithfulness, mercy, and love. As this word is read, let every heart encounter You. Let eyes be opened and spirits awakened. Holy Spirit, take over and let this be a holy moment where Heaven speaks and Jesus is revealed. Amen.
The Worthy One
In Revelation 5, John wept because no one in heaven, or on earth, or under the earth, was found worthy to open the scroll or even to look at it. Think about it. The angels were there, the elders were there, and all creation stood before the throne, but none could open it. The scroll could not be opened by power alone, because power was not the key. Heaven was not searching for who was strong enough, who was pure enough, who was willing. Then one of the elders said, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah has triumphed.” Yet when John turned to look, he did not see a roaring lion; he saw a Lamb standing as though it had been slain. Heaven called Him Lion but revealed Him as the Lamb. Isn’t that interesting? That true power looked like surrender. True victory looked like sacrifice. The Lion conquered as the Lamb. The scroll was opened, not through force, but through the blood of innocence. The whole of Heaven fell in worship because worthiness had been found. The kind of worthiness that could redeem creation back to God.
The Lamb and the Shepherd
Jesus is both the Lamb and the Shepherd, the One who was led and the One who leads, the One who laid down His life and the One who now protects ours. He became the Lamb so that He could become our Shepherd. He let Himself be slain so that He could protect His flock. Isaiah said, “As a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.” A shearer strips the wool from a sheep, yet the sheep does not resist. So too, Jesus did not resist what was done to Him. His silence was not weakness—it was power. It was trust in the Father’s will.
Even as He was beaten, mocked, and crucified, Jesus never turned His heart away. He did not let anger enter. He did not curse those who hurt Him. He did not wish evil upon the ones who mocked Him. Instead, He fixed His face toward the will of God. It was love that held Him there, not the nails. Love for the Father, love for us, and the love of God Himself. In His final hours, the only One He spoke to was His Father. “Father, forgive them.” “My God, My God.” “Into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Every word was love. Every breath was obedience. He loved us so deeply that even surrounded by hate, He remained steadfast in mercy. Even on the cross, He was still interceding for us.
Prayer
Thank you Jesus, for loving me the way you do. I know my love can never reach the magnitude of which You love me, but in Your Precious Name, I will never stop trying and I will never stop loving you. Be though Exalted now and forever in the name of Jesus, Amen!!
The Dominion of the Lamb
‘A child has been born for us; a son has been given to us. The responsibility of complete dominion will rest on his shoulders, and his name will be: the Wonderful One, the Extraordinary Strategist, the Mighty God, the Father of Eternity, the Prince of Peace! Great and vast is his dominion. He will bring immeasurable peace and prosperity. He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom to establish and uphold it by promoting justice and righteousness from this time forward and forevermore. The marvelous passion that the Lord Yahweh , Commander of Angel Armies, has for his people will ensure that it is finished!’ Isaiah 9:6-7 TPT
Dominion rests upon His shoulders because He carried every role necessary for redemption. The Lamb who died is the King who reigns. The Shepherd who leads is the Sacrifice that saves. He did not ascend the throne by force. He ascended through obedience. His dominion was not seized, it was inherited through perfect love. Because He fulfilled the will of the Father in completeness, all authority now belongs to Him. His reign is peace, His rule is righteousness, and His authority is love.
The Lamb Still Calls
Even now, the Lamb still calls. He calls not through fear, but through love. That is what makes this faith unlike any other. Every other way tells you to fix yourself before you come. The Lamb says, “Come as you are.” He already knows the sickness of the human heart. He knows the thoughts that trouble us, the emotions that surprise us, and the failures that shame us, yet He still calls. Paul said, “The good that I want to do, I do not do,” and that is the cry of every soul without the Shepherd. Jesus is not asking for perfection. He is calling us to rest. He is saying, “Let Me carry what you cannot carry. My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Sometimes love must break us to save us. There was a time when God allowed me to reach the end of myself. Everything I tried failed, and I was sitting in a car, broken and homeless, crying out to Him. Though I did not know Him, I asked God, “What did I do wrong?” I felt empty and unseen, yet in that place of complete surrender, He found me. Within days, He restored what I had lost. That is the mercy of the Lamb. That is the Shepherd who searches until He finds His sheep. He does not beat us into repentance; He loves us there.
The Word That Did Not Return Void
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 NKJV
This Word is Jesus Himself. The Father spoke, and the Word went forth, clothed in flesh and dwelling among us. Jesus is the Word that did not return empty. He accomplished everything the Father desired. From Genesis to Revelation, every prophecy, every promise, every foreshadowing pointed to Him. He is the fulfillment of it all. He is the Word that prospered in everything He was sent to do. When He cried, “It is finished,” He was not only ending His suffering, He was announcing that the Word had completed its assignment and was returning to the One who sent Him, not void, but victorious. That is why when I ask God to speak over my life, I do so with confidence, because every word from His mouth carries the life of Jesus. Every word He speaks is sealed with success. The Word never fails. JESUS NEVER FAILS!
Final Reflection
The Lamb who was slain still stands. His scars remain, not as reminders of pain, but as eternal proof of love. He is the Lion who reigns and the Lamb who redeems. The Shepherd who calls and the Word who fulfills. Even now, His voice echoes through time, calling every heart home, not through fear, not through judgment, but through love.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
for by His blood we were redeemed.
By His stripes we are healed,
And by His love we are made whole.
Glory Be to Jesus Christ!
Call to Salvation
If as you read this, your heart feels stirred, it is the call of the Lamb. Jesus is still saying, “Come.” He is not asking you to fix yourself or to prove your worth. He is asking you to let Him in. The Word has already accomplished everything needed for your salvation. All that remains is your yes. If you are ready to surrender your life to Him, pray these words from your heart:
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died and rose again for me. I confess that I am a sinner in need of Your mercy. Today, I turn from my old ways and receive You as my Lord and Savior. Wash me in Your blood. Fill me with Your Spirit. Write my name in the Book of Life. From this day forward, I am Yours. In Jesus name, Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer, Heaven rejoices, and the Lamb who was slain calls you His own. You are forgiven. You are free. You are loved.
Welcome to the Family. Welcome to the Light.
If you prayed that prayer, this is not just a new chapter; this is a new life!
Your past is behind you.
Your future is in His hands.
And the Father is rejoicing because His child has come home.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.”
— 1 John 3:1
