KOZETH & MOPHETH

He found you and said Live!

Scripture: "I bathed you with water, washed away your blood, and anointed you with fragrant oil.”

Devotion:

First, let us establish what spiritual adultery is. Chapter 16 of Ezekiel is one of the clearest explanations in the Bible. In Ezekiel 16, God speaks through the prophet with deep emotion. He tells the story of Jerusalem using the imagery of a husband and his bride. The Lord reminds her of her beginnings, abandoned and unwanted at birth. She was left to die, but God came by and said, Live.

He clothed her in fine garments, adorned her with jewels, and made her radiant with beauty. He says, You were the most beautiful of all women. You looked like royalty, and you were honored and admired by everyone because of the beauty I gave you.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for finding me, washing me, and covering me with Your love. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
Our story begins with mercy. He chose us and made us beautiful in His sight.

To-Do:
Read Ezekiel 16:1–14 slowly. Journal what God rescued you from. Sit with Him for five minutes in silence.

Gifts turned into idols

Scripture: “You took the gifts I gave you and used them to make male idols, and then you gave yourself to them.”

Devotion:

Instead of remaining faithful, she used the very gifts God gave her to pursue other lovers. The gold, the perfume, the beauty all became instruments of betrayal. She turned from her First Love and gave her heart to idols. Her unfaithfulness was not subtle. It was loud, public, and bold. The Lord calls it what it is. Spiritual prostitution. Even worse, she paid her lovers.

Most prostitutes are paid, but Jerusalem gave away what was sacred and paid others to come defile her. This still happens till today. Where people use the gifts God gives them to conform to the world. And they, in the process, push the agenda of the enemy instead of that of Christ Jesus.

Prayer:
Jesus, reveal any place where I have used Your gifts for my own idols. I return to You. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
What He gives must lead us back to Him, not away from Him.

To-Do:
RAsk the Spirit to name one gift you have and how to use it for Jesus alone. Write it down. Sit quietly with Him for five minutes.

He remembers the covenant

Scripture: “Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you when you were young, and I will establish with you an everlasting covenant.”

Devotion:

Still, in the midst of grief and righteous judgment, the chapter ends with a powerful promise. He says He will establish a new covenant. Not because she earned it, but because of His mercy.
He is not indifferent.
He is a Husband who remembers.
A Bridegroom who longs for fidelity.
He gives everything, beauty, covering, love, and
He grieves when His Bride forgets Him.

This chapter shows the heartbreak of betrayal, but also the mercy of restoration. It is a call to return. To remember our first love. To repent. And to renew our covenant with Him.

Prayer:
Merciful God, thank You for remembering Your covenant. Draw my heart back to its  first love. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
His mercy is stronger than our wandering, but it calls us to return.

To-Do:
Write a short prayer of recommitment to Jesus as your Bridegroom. Sit with Him for five minutes and let Him speak.

Friendship with the world

Scripture: “You have become spiritual adulterers who are having an affair, an unholy relationship with the world. Do you not know that flirting with the world’s values places you at odds with God? Whoever chooses to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy.”

Devotion:

What a powerful verse. Whoever chooses to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy. Ask yourself, do you really want to be God’s enemy The One who created the earth, the heavens, and all that is in it No. We would have to be truly lost to willingly stand against God. Instead, would we not rather have Him on our side because with Him on our side, victory is assured. Peace is ours. Love, health, wealth, purpose, and so much more is ours.

I have been in that place where I was friends with the world. I was an unbeliever at the time. I loved to party, drink, and run around trying to fill the emptiness. But I never knew true joy. I always needed something going on, noise, distraction, because the silence was scary. But glory to God, He saved me from that life and brought me into His marvelous light. The world pretends to numb the pain but Jesus brings fullness of peace, and love.

Prayer:
Lord, sever my friendship with the world. Join my heart to Yours alone. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
A heart tied to the world grows cold to Jesus. Choose Him again.

To-Do:
Turn off one worldly distraction for the rest of today. Give that time to worship and five minutes of silence with Jesus.

A pure betrothal

Scripture: “For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one Husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”

Devotion:

The Bridegroom desires a pure and devoted Bride. He is jealous with holy jealousy. He wants our whole heart. Return to your first love. Remember why you said yes to Him. Choose faithfulness in the small things and the hidden places. Let your whole life say, I belong to Jesus.

Prayer:
Jesus, keep me for Yourself. Guard my affections and my worship. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
You are promised to one Husband. Live like you are already His.

To-Do:
Write a love letter to Jesus. Tell Him what you love about Him. Sit in His presence for five minutes and listen.

A covenant of faithfulness

Scripture: “I will take you to Myself as My wife forever. I will make you Mine in righteousness and justice, with unfailing love and tender affection. Yes, I will commit Myself to you in faithfulness. Then you will know Me intimately as Yahweh.”

Devotion:

Glory to God. This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. To think God is so mindful of us, it is beautiful beyond words. This verse teaches us that God is committed to us. In faithfulness, the Lord is mine. That means He will always be faithful to me, always love me, always be my Husband. And because of that, I will know Him as Yahweh. Yahweh is the personal name of God revealed in the Old Testament. It means I Am, the Eternal One, the Self Existent One who was, who is, and who will always be. He is not just powerful. He is present, unchanging, and faithful. When we say Yahweh, we are calling on the God who keeps covenants, who sees, who hears, and who is always near.

Challenge activity
Set a timer every three hours today. Take ten minutes to pray, worship, read the Word, or simply talk to Jesus. Start your day by speaking to Him first.

Declaration:
I will not fail. I will seek the Lord early in the morning. I will honor Him with my time and my heart. I will not live distracted. I will not grow cold. I will be a faithful and perfect Bride to my Lord. I will live every day preparing for His return. I belong to Jesus, and I will stay ready. In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer:
In Jesus name, Heavenly Father, I confess my sins. Please have mercy on me. Help me to not be friends with the world and instead make me Yours. I surrender again to You. Draw me closer. Help me to love You with all my heart. In Jesus name, Amen!

Takeaway:
His covenant love keeps us and invites us into deeper knowing.

To-Do:
Do the challenge. After your last check-in, end the day with five minutes of adoration.
