John 1: 1-14
Hello, Special Reader — Before we get started, let us pray.
In Jesus name, Father we thank You. Thank You for the one reading right now. Thank You for drawing them to this moment. Holy Spirit, we ask that You open their hearts to receive. Remove all confusion, all distraction, all doubt. Let Your light break through. Let truth rise in their heart. Let Jesus be revealed in clarity and power. In Jesus name. Amen.

ToggleWho Is The Word That Became Flesh?
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”John 1:1-14 NKJV

When You Hear the Name JESUS, what comes to your mind? Do you think of love, peace, and truth? Or maybe you feel unsure, maybe even confused. Do you find yourself asking, “Is this all just nonsense?” But then again, is there a part of you that leans in? A part of you that wonders, “What if it’s real?” If that is you, you are not alone. And you are not here by accident.
Let me start by saying this: the only one who can truly make you understand who (the word that became flesh), is Jesus Himself, through the Holy Spirit. If you are willing to listen, to consider, to open up your heart, He will meet you. I pray as you read, He will reveal Himself to you in Jesus name.
So who is Jesus?
Jesus is the Living Word of God. He was not created. He always was. He is not separate from God. He is God’s Word. And through Him, all things were made. God Spoke and Jesus moved when God said, “Let there be light,” that Word did not just echo through the sky. That Word was a Person. That Word was Jesus. Every star. Every tree. Every human being. All were created through Him.
Hebrews 1:3 says: “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.”
Jesus did not just create. He sustains. Without Him, everything falls apart. He even tells us this in the book of John. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. Jesus is not just the beginning. He is the One who holds it all together.
Prayer:
In Jesus name, Father God, help me to know Jesus. Jesus please draw me close to You that I may understand who You are, not just to me but to all. In Jesus name Amen!
But Why Did He Come?
Because we needed mercy. From the very beginning, God created us to walk with Him. But we chose rebellion. Sin entered. And with sin came separation, shame, and death.
Romans 3:23 says: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Sin and God never got along and will never get along. In the Old Testament, that is why God said for us to be holy because He is holy. Sinning is like a wife cheating on her husband. It causes distance from God, and because God is holy, sin has to be judged. The Old Testament talks about what happens when one sins. There are repercussions for sins. But because God is love, He made a way. A way for us to be right with Him again. The people sinned so much that daily sacrifices were no longer sufficient. It’s as if they sinned right before they did the sacrifices and right after. The Bible says that the heart of man is sick. We needed someone, something that could truly purify us.
The Answer
God Sent His Word. He did not send death or judgment, even though we deserved it. He did not send another prophet. He sent Himself. He sent His Word. That Word became flesh. That Word became Jesus.
John 1:14 (NLT) says: “So the Word became human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.”
Jesus lived the life we could not live. He showed us the Father. He healed, forgave, loved, and revealed the heart of God. All the things we were meant to do but could not do because again, our hearts were sick.
But He did not stop there…
The Cross: Where Justice Met Mercy
Sin demands judgment. But mercy desires forgiveness. Jesus satisfied both.
Isaiah 53:5 says: “But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”
On the cross, Jesus took our place. He carried our sin. And He paid the price in full. The justice of God was satisfied. The mercy of God was released.
So What Does That Mean for You? It means the door to God is open.
Hebrews 4:16: “Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Jesus already made a way. A way to the Father. A way to live a life that is truly worth living. A way to righteousness. A way to obtain mercy. Jesus Is Not Just a Man. He Is the Message. He is what God has to say to you. He is God’s love, God’s truth, and God’s mercy in the form of a Person.
Colossians 1:15-16 says: “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation. For through Him God created everything.”
Jesus is not just the Savior. He is the Source. He is not just sent by God. He is the Word of God.

Final Thought: Come Home
If you have ever asked, “Does God care about me?” look at Jesus. He is the answer. He is the Word that became mercy.
Now He is calling. He is reaching. He is inviting you home.
Matthew 11:28: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Jesus is the mercy you need. He is the truth your heart has been searching for. He is the Word that changes everything.
If you’re ready, say this from your heart:
